FAQ

Straight answers
to the five objections
you always get.

Five questions UK trades actually ask before they sign up — answered in plain English, no corporate fluff.

Why do I need this?

Because chasing your own money is the worst part of the job, and most of us are rubbish at it. If you're spending half a day a week on the phone asking polite questions about invoices you already finished, Paidly does that bit for you — and it gets paid faster because the nudges don't feel awkward like yours do.

Won't it upset my clients?

Less than you ringing them three times in a week does. Paidly sends a friendly nudge, waits, then escalates only if nothing happens — and it's worded like a person, not a debt collector. Most clients pay on the second reminder and never think twice about it. The ones who do get funny are usually the ones who'd have strung you along anyway.

How is this different from a chaser?

A chaser is a stamp on a template. Paidly reads what your client says back — the excuses, the promises, the 'cheque's in the post' stuff — and decides what to do next. If they're stalling, it firms up the tone. If they've actually got a problem, it softens. You're not getting the same generic email four times; you're getting the next move.

What if a client still doesn't pay?

Then you've got a paper trail — timestamps, every email sent, every reply received — which is exactly what a solicitor or small-claims court wants to see. Paidly won't magic money out of someone who's gone bust, but it'll keep you out of the awkward back-and-forth and give you the evidence you need if it ever has to go further.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your invoice data lives in a UK-hosted Postgres database, your account is password-protected, and only you can see your data — none of it gets shared, sold or used to train anything. The reminder emails go through Polsia's authenticated email proxy, not a third-party marketing service, so client addresses don't leak into anyone's mailing list.
